Tour of Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire, world renowned for breath-taking seascapes rated by National Geographic magazine experts as the second best coastline in the World. With 186 miles of magnificent and varied coastline and over 50 beaches, there’s plenty of space for everyone. Here’s a few of our highlights of our Tour of Pembrokeshire

This is a day for everybody and will be tailored to suit your interests. We can explore Carew Castle, built in the 13thC, one of Wales’s hidden gems or take a short boat trip from the resort of Tenby to Caldey Island, one of Britain’s’ holy islands’ where Cistercian monks continue a tradition of worship that began in Celtic times. A thousand years of prayer and quiet living have made this beautiful island a haven of tranquillity and peace.

After this exciting morning, we suggest sticking with the religious theme and visiting St. Govan’s Chapel, named for the saint who lived his life as a hermit in a cliffside cave. Many mystical stories surround the small medieval church which clings to the ragged rock cliffs of a secluded headland. It is difficult to imagine a more strikingly situated church in all of Britain.

Heading down the coast we’ll see Stackpole’s beautiful coastline with white sandy beaches, tranquil wooded valleys and lily ponds rich in flora and fauna. Your day finishes in the town of Pembroke; best known as the birthplace of Henry VII. Pembroke Castle his birthplace dominates the town and is one of Britain’s most iconic monuments, committed to canvas by Turner and many others.

The day could also take in St David’s Cathedral, a site of pilgrimage since the 1200’s in Britain’s smallest City or you might want to stroll one of the famous coastal paths.
