Family Fun in Pembrokeshire

Fairy-tale like seaside resorts, brilliant beaches, ample ice cream shops, endless walking paths, awe-inspring wildlife and an abundance of outdoor activities make Pembrokeshire one of Britain’s finest family areas to visit.

This day is tailored to the family, we can visit Skomer and Skokholm islands, which together make up one of the world’s most important sites for sea birds. You can see a lot of the action from a walk around the Deer Park on the headland, and also glimpse a third island, Grassholm, gleaming on the horizon. The sea is rich in activity and you may spot seals, dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks!

We can head down the beach and go riding a horse through the surf which is one of those bucket-list experiences, and the vast beach at Druidston Haven is pretty much the perfect place to tick it off.

A hike might be in order and the stretch between Abereiddi and Porthgain is stunning – at one end there’s the Blue Lagoon, an old slate quarry that’s been spectacularly swamped by the sea; at the other is a pretty harbour with a truly epic fish and chip restaurant. In the middle, steep steps lead down to the gorgeous cliff-backed beach.

For the more adventurous families we could organise some coasteering, which in a nutshell is all about rock-hopping, shore-scrambling, swell-riding, cave-exploring and, yes, cliff-jumping. But it’s as much about discovering our wildlife and coastline; a true exhilarating experience! Whatever you choose to do your local driver guide will help make the most of your day.
