Cotswold Cheese & Ale

Join us on this unique tour as one of our private drivers takes you to a local organic dairy farm in the Cotswold countryside where the owner’s family have been farming for over 500 years. Milk has been produced at the Farm for centuries – you’ll get the chance to meet the ’girls’ who work hard every day to provide rich milk for the cheese. Every morning the milk travels just five metres from the milking shed to the Creamery, where the expert cheesemakers turn it into a delicious range of artisan products such as Cotswold Brie, Single Gloucester, and Truffled Gloucester. You will be led through the process by the owner and understand how these beautiful cheeses are made; before sampling their award-winning products.

We will head off to the quintessential villages of Lower and Upper Slaughter and take in these famous Cotswold sites before a relaxing country pub lunch.

The afternoon will be a mix of sightseeing and then a visit to a local brewery that has been in operation since 1865. Today, the beer is still brewed the same way as 155 years ago and the owner will explain the unique process they have here in the Cotswolds. After the tour and visit of the brewery you will have a chance to try a few of their best ales in the cellar and then walk the stunning property with it’s own private river that supplies the water for the beer.

To finish the day, we could take in a Cotswold afternoon tea at Buckland Manor or Lords of the Manor. This is truly a unique British experience celebrating local Cotswold Food and Ale.

FAQs

It is really a combination of both. The day introduces you to local Cotswold food and drink producers while still allowing time to explore beautiful villages and countryside, making it ideal for guests who want something more experiential than a conventional sightseeing day.

Great Tour and Unforgettable Guide!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

My brother and I grew up on our parent’s farm in rural Alabama, so when he, my mother, and the rest of the family came to visit me in a London, they wanted to see the British countryside. We couldn’t have picked a better guide for this than Robin Dale. Robin’s deep knowledge of the Cotswolds and adaptability made the tour one of the best parts of our trip. Josh, USA.
