North Wales Medieval Castles

The North Wales Medieval Castles are amongst the best preserved and impressive Medieval buildings in all of Europe! Built from 1276 onwards by Edward I, the impressive and war-like King of England, built these monuments to keep unruly Welsh princes in order and subdue the local population.

Castles at Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech and Beaumaris formed a ‘Ring of Iron’ that left the occupied people in no doubt as to the strength of their new ruler. Each one is unique, earning them ‘World Heritage Site’ status and during your visit you will be transported back to a time of noble lords, medieval princes and the machinations of power as each castle tells its own story throughout the centuries.
