Steam railways have played a central role in Welsh industrial history and for many visitors a high point of their tour is a ride on one of the ‘Great Little Trains of Wales‘. Our North Wales by steam tour will give you the chance to experience the sounds, sights and smells of yesteryear.
Built to carry slate and mineral ore to the coast, these ‘Heritage Railways’, through Snowdonia’s hills and valleys, now provide visitors with a high quality experience full of charm and beauty. Your guide will help you to decide which rail journey to choose from the 10 on offer, and will ensure that you have a wonderful day driving through a landscape full of rugged mountains, crystal clear lakes, craggy outcrops and mighty castles.
Along the way we’ll be sure to stop for a traditional Welsh country pub lunch and try some Welsh rarebit. The latter afternoon could be tailored with seeing the lovely Portmeirion or King Edward’s Harlech Castle. Whether you decide to take 1 or 3 train journeys along the way we’ll explore Snowdonia and experience quaint villages, breath-taking scenery and historic sites.
