Despite worldwide popularity, the Cotswolds is still full steeped in rural traditions and culture. This day with showcase these wonderful ways taking you through to famous Clarkson’s Farmshop where our own Robin Dale, has recently featured on the series Clarkson’s Farm.
Your guide will take you to the nooks and crannies of this beautiful area that only genuine locals know about. We know this area better than anybody and of course, we keep our secrets to ourselves, but you will be given a rare insight into the rural Cotswolds.
Your guide will show you’re the market town of Chipping Campden famed for its wool trading. As you stroll down the High Street you can visit Harts Silversmiths which is the last operating remnant of the Guild of Handicraft or visit the ancient Market Hall that used for locals selling their goods. We’ll have a chance to visit the truly beautiful village of Broadway where you can visit Broadway Deli to taste local delights or grab a treat to go. From here, ‘Kennel Lane’ is short stroll to meet the fox hounds kept of the back of the High Street.
Perhaps you would like to taste some of the finest locally produced ale at Donnington Brewery that has been in operation since 1865. Today, the beer is still brewed the same way as 158 years ago and you can test it out ourselves with their Honesty Box to grab yourself a taste. From here there is a chance to visit the Rollright Stones, the ancient complex where you can hear the folklore for these stones or Belas Knap with stunning views of the Cotswold hills and Sudeley Castle.
The famous Clarkson’s Farmshop, Diddly Squat, is next on the list. It is open on Thursday to Sunday so our days for this tour are fixed to then. This iconic place has had visitors from all of the world that has become a must-see place in the Cotswolds. The shop is packed full of produce from Clarkson’s Farm or local suppliers. Sample some of the famous ‘Cow Juice’ or ‘Gin in a Tin’. You can grab lunch at the farmshop or have a picnic in the beautiful Cotswold fields or you may fancy a country pub lunch. Whatever you choose, your guide will be able to suggest the best spots!
