Experience the magic of Christmas in the Cotswolds on a private festive touring day combining beautifully decorated villages, winter countryside and a hands-on festive candle making experience.
Travel through some of the most picturesque Cotswold villages at Christmas, when historic stone cottages, traditional market towns and cosy country inns take on a wonderfully festive atmosphere. Your private driver-guide will shape the day around the season, allowing time to explore charming villages, browse independent shops and enjoy the quieter beauty of the Cotswolds during November and December.
A highlight of the day is an intimate Christmas candle making workshop in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold. Step inside a candlelit fragrance studio and discover a collection of winter-inspired scents before being expertly guided through the process of hand-pouring your own 20cl soy wax candle.
You will also create either six premium soy wax tealights or a tray of beautifully scented Christmas tree hangers to take home, giving you a personal reminder of your festive visit to the Cotswolds. While your creations set, relax with a seasonal drink and festive treat tray before continuing your journey through the surrounding countryside and villages.
Depending on your interests and the pace of the day, your private Christmas Cotswolds tour can include a traditional country pub lunch, Christmas shopping, scenic back roads and some of the region’s most atmospheric villages and market towns. As with all of our private tours, the itinerary remains flexible, allowing your driver-guide to adapt the day around what you would most like to experience.
Combining festive Cotswold villages, Christmas traditions, local craftsmanship and candle making, this is a wonderfully different way to experience the Cotswolds during the most magical time of year.

It’s hard to see all the Cotswolds in a day so after the “Northern Tour”we booked a second tour that focused on the southern Cotswolds. Driver/guide Rob was a sheer joy. History, humor and culture came to life from Broadway to Bath and back with numerous stops in between. Appropriately we ended with a rainbow- not sure he can guarantee that for you. Definitely recommend!
